The Tooth Colored Filling Process
The process for placing a tooth colored filling is straightforward and can typically be completed in a single visit. First, Dr. Marvizi or Dr. Rayhan will numb the area around the affected tooth to ensure your comfort. The decayed portion of the tooth is then carefully removed using a dental drill.
Once the decay has been removed, a bonding agent is applied to the prepared tooth surface. This agent helps the composite resin material adhere securely to the tooth structure. The tooth colored filling material is then added in layers and carefully molded to match the natural shape of your tooth.
Each layer is cured and hardened using a special ultraviolet light. After the filling has been built up to the proper shape, any excess material is removed, and the filling is given its final shaping and polishing. The result is a smooth, natural-looking restoration that blends perfectly with the rest of your tooth.
